i told rafael i will write a poem
about how miltos chose art
instead of a giros restaurant chain
but then i felt bad about making fun
of miltos’ horrible life choices
and decided not to write that poem

i wanted to write a poem
but i decided
to play monopoly
with my kids
instead

global society decided
to not plan, prevent, and build
but to manufacture crises.

it is not a magical power
we can not control
but a precise design we made.

and this is a good thing
because it means
that we can redesign everything.
